Riding for Life: Abi's Inspirational Journey from a Melanoma Diagnosis to Fundraising Success

Abi was only 27 when she was diagnosed with melanoma, an advanced form of skin cancer, and was given two weeks to live. Abi was able to visit University Hospital Southampton, where she recieved life-saving immunotherapy treatment that was researched and developed by the Centre for Cancer Immunology. Amazingly, in under 6 months, Abi went from having 13 tumours on her liver and two on her lungs, to be completely cancer free.

Abi is now thriving and enjoying life as a mum-of-two, something which she thought she and husband ross woulkd never get to experience. Both Abi and Ross are incredibly grateful for the treatment she recieved and the work it took to get those treatments into the clinic.

She has since gone on to fundraise for the Centre for Cancer Immunology herself; She did a sponsered cycled ride with husband Ross. Together they cycled over 100 miles from Bournemouth to Brighton. They raised a staggering £5,280 plus an additional £1013.50 in gift aid, far exceeding their target of £3,000.
